How Do I Know If I Need Hearing Aids?

Hearing aids may be a good option if you have difficulty following conversations, frequently ask others to repeat themselves, turn up the television volume, or struggle to hear clearly in restaurants and other busy environments. A diagnostic hearing evaluation can help determine whether hearing aids may improve your daily communication.

Hearing aids are not one-size-fits-all. Your audiologist considers your hearing test results, lifestyle, communication needs, and personal preferences when recommending hearing solutions. The goal is to help you hear more clearly and stay connected to the people and activities that matter most.

What Happens During a Hearing Aid Fitting?

During your fitting appointment, your audiologist programs your hearing aids based on your specific hearing needs. Real Ear Measurements (REM) are used to verify that your hearing aids are providing the appropriate amount of sound based on the unique shape and acoustics of your ears.

Your audiologist will explain how to use and care for your hearing aids, answer your questions, and ensure you feel comfortable before you leave your appointment. Adjusting to hearing aids takes time, and we provide continued guidance throughout the process.

Your Hearing Aid Follow-Up Schedule

After your initial fitting, your audiologist will continue to monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. A follow-up appointment is scheduled approximately two weeks after your fitting to review your experience and optimize your hearing aids.

Once your hearing aids are fully optimized, follow-up appointments are recommended every six months. These visits help ensure your devices continue working properly and allow your audiologist to make adjustments as your hearing needs change.

Follow-up appointments are included for three years under the service plan. This ongoing support helps you feel confident using your hearing aids and ensures you have access to professional care after your initial fitting.
